Facial aesthetic treatments
Smile lines and wrinkles are both a normal part of the ageing process, but many people now seek ways to retain a young and healthy appearance for longer. At Chequers Dental in Salisbury we provide high quality non-surgical facial treatments, which are tailored to meet your specific requirements.
Botox is renowned for its ability to smooth out lines and wrinkles and is one of the most popular non-surgical cosmetic treatments in the UK.
It is effective, convenient, well tolerated and has an excellent safety record when administered by a qualified practitioner.
Botox works by relaxing facial muscles, reducing lines and wrinkles. Skin is visibly smooth and refreshed – giving a relaxed and younger appearance.
Botox injections are relatively painless. Our qualified practitioner will be able to target areas with precision, injecting the optimum amount to smooth lines, but leaving you with some movement for a natural look.
Botox can be used on the forehead, the area between your eyebrows at the top of your nose (glabella lines), the eye and lip area and on the neck.
Afterwards you may experience mild swelling and redness. There may also be some bruising and a slight numbness to the area. This usually only lasts up to an hour.
The results usually last for about 3-4 months during the first year of treatment and then for about six months thereafter. We recommend 3 or 4 treatments in the first year and 2 or 3 treatments in subsequent years to maintain your desired look.
Dermal fillers can help in plumping up the skin to restore volume and improve facial contours, as well as smoothing out lines and wrinkles.
Dermal fillers contain hyaluronic acid, this substance occurs naturally in our skin but the amount gradually diminishes with age. Hyaluronic acid attracts and binds to water molecules to plump up and hydrate the skin.
Replacing lost hyaluronic acid helps to erase those tell-tale signs of ageing, helping you to have skin that looks younger and more radiant.
The procedure is quick, simple and relatively painless. There may be a slight stinging sensation but the needle we use is extremely fine to minimise any discomfort.
Possible side-effects are usually associated with the site of the injection, and can include mild swelling, redness and slight discomfort. These usually disappear within a couple of days. Other side effects are rare.
Treatments are backed by extensive clinical trials, ensuring safe and effective results.
Dermal fillers can be used to enhance your lips to make them appear fuller and less lined around the edges, to erase frown lines or those lines which often appear between your nose and lips, and to generally improve your facial contours.
The results are not permanent and repeat treatments may be necessary every 6-9 months.
